The article was included in a section titled “Women Power Players,” featuring top female executives in the U.S. restaurant industry.

Anderson, who was also profiled in the Fall 2000 edition of The Magazine of Elon, oversees the financial operations of Wendy’s, one of the nation’s leading restaurant chains. She joined Wendy’s in September 2000, after working for KPMG Peat Marwick, a top five accounting firm, and RJR Nabisco. She also served as senior vice president of M/I Schottenstein Homes, Inc., a Columbus, Ohio, construction company.

An Alamance County native, Anderson graduated magna cum laude from Elon with a degree in business administration and minors in accounting and economics. She passed the CPA exam on her first try and later earned an MBA from Duke University.

Anderson refers to her roots in the Nation’s Restaurant News story, by staff writer Richard Papiernik. “I grew up and worked on a tobacco farm in North Carolina. I learned to work with people of all backgrounds and educational levels. Whatever position you’re in, you do the best job that you can.”
