Jeanette Olli, a senior from Shrub Oak, N.Y., recently received the Outstanding Mathematics Education Student award from the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Olli, a math major who is seeking secondary teacher licensure, competed with mathematics education majors from other colleges and universities in central North Carolina. She has served as president of Elon’s student chapter of NCCTM, has tutored both Elon and secondary students in math and participated in the Student Undergraduate Research Experience.
Olli received a plaque and cash award and the math department received a plaque.
