Evening for Elon in Washington

More than 250 alumni, parents and friends of the university turned out for a special gathering held Nov. 20 in Washington, D.C. Details...

An “Evening for Elon” was held at the Gannett corporate headquarters in Tyson’s Corner, and included tours of the USA Today newspaper offices. Elon alumus Gary Evans ’74, director of circulation marketing for USA Today, made arrangements for the use of the facilities.

The event included a reception and an Elon update presentation by President Leo M. Lambert. Other speakers included Nan Perkins, vice president for institutional advancement, and Mary Ruth, director of alumni/parent relations. Catering costs for the event were covered by a donation by trustee Mary Straub ’82.

Evening for Elon events are sponsored by Institutional Advancement as a way for alumni, parents and friends of Elon in cities distant from the campus to find out about current University news and keep in contact with one another.
