Read this note to find out more about SURF presentations in April and for deadline information.
The Student Undergraduate Research Forum (SURF) at Elon, scheduled for April 10, showcases student scholarly work and provides students the opportunity to present “research in progress” to a faculty and student audience. Undergraduate scholarship involves faculty collaboration with students as a part of faculty scholarship or course-based work, where students are introduced firsthand to rigorous methods of intellectual inquiry as participating contributors.
The Undergraduate Research Advisory Committee welcomes applications from students in any discipline. In addition to research presentations, students may make presentations of a creative nature (e.g., poetry, creative writing, musical performance) that include a scholarly reflection on the work or creative process.
Information and application materials are available at the Undergraduate Research Program office, from professors, and on the Web at www.elon.edu/urp. The application deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 19. Completed application materials should be submitted to the Undergraduate Research Program office (McEwen Communications Building, Room 203).
