Graduate’s film chosen for LA festival

"The Big White Wall," a film by Jonathan Campbell '98, has been selected for the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival in October. Details...

The 31-minute film, written, directed and produced by Campbell, is one of about 200 short films chosen for the festival, which will be held Oct. 15-20. Filmmakers and directors from other festivals will be in attendance, and Campbell hopes the exposure will create interest in his film.

“What I’m hoping is that the filmmakers and directors at this festival may see it and think, ‘Hey, I wonder if it is entered in our festival,'” Campbell said in a Sept. 27 article in the Burlington (N.C.) Times-News.

“The Big White Wall” deals with one man’s bout with depression. It was filmed in Burlington and Yanceyville, N.C., and on a set at Piedmont Community College in Yanceyville.
