The Jacques Thibaud String Trio will perform works by Mozart and Villa-Lobos at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12 in Whitley Auditorium. Details...
Award winners in the prestigious 1999 Bonn Chamber Music Competition, the trio has performed throughout Europe, Japan and the United States. Calling their performances “spontaneous and commanding,” the New York Times has said, “this could be the first string trio in some time to have a major career.”
The trio’s tour features a return engagement at Lincoln Center, a debut at London’s Wigmore Hall and more than 40 U.S. cities, including a residency at the Florida International Festival. The trio will play works by Mozart and Villa-Lobos. Its name pays homage to the great French violinist Jacques Thibaud, who devoted himself to chamber music in addition to his work as soloist.
Admission is by ticket only. Tickets for the performance are $10, or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
