The class of 2003 at Elon College has officially welcomed 16 freshmen students who have alumni parents plus one student with an alumnus grandparent.

U. S. News & World Report's 2000 America's Best Colleges rankings place Elon College #15 among 123 Southern regional colleges and universities.

Elon has entered into an agreement with Harris Publishing Company to survey all alumni and produce an alumni directory in 2000.

Attention: students/faculty/staff, a campus-wide administrative computer shutdown is scheduled for 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 30.

Elon's fall 1999 enrollment is 3,961, including 3,701 undergraduates and 260 graduate students.
