Laredo, praised by the New York Daily News as “America’s First Lady of the Piano,” has established her reputation worldwide as a leading soloist, recitalist and recording artist. Her repertoire ranges from Beethoven to Barber and she is acclaimed for her interpretations and recordings of works by Russian, French and Spanish composers. Her Elon recital will include works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Maurice Ravel, Robert Schumann and Alexander Scriabin.
The recital is sponsored by Elon University and the Times-News Publishing Co., in collaboration with the Adams Foundation of Santa Barbara, Calif. The foundation sponsors piano recitals in communities across the United States and hopes to make the recital series at Whitley Auditorium a permanent feature.
Tickets for the performance are $15, or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
