Sixteen student staff members in the Office of Residence Life recently completed a program designed to get students involved in campus life early in the fall semester. Details...
The program is designed to create a positive impact and to further students’ co-curricular learning and connection to Elon University at the beginning of the year.
The goal of the 6-Week Challenge is to engage Elon students in positive interactions and events to build their connection to the campus during the first six weeks of the semester. Staff members had to accomplish this by sponsoring and promoting a program each week for the first six weeks of the semester. Some of the programs included supporting Orientation Weekend events, a white water rafting trip, a trip to the blood drive, bowling trip, ice cream socials, playing games at a church shelter, supporting Elon athletic events, mural painting, and a scavenger hunt to become more familiar with campus.
The student staff members who completed the challenge are Lana Yarmak, Leah Baker, Jen Davis, Beth Stevenson, Dan Hornyak, Nate Huret, Dorothy Cowan, John Darlington, Adam Foggia, Yolanda Smith, Scott Jansen, Katie Clair, Peter Wolf, Jennifer Mayfield, Chaya Compton, and Chassity Angeny.
