Cindy Wall Sarwi has begun work as Elon's new director of alumni and parent relations. A 1987 Elon graduate, Sarwi serves as the primary liaison between the university and alumni and parents. Details...
Since 1993, Sarwi served as chair of the Department of Health and Physical Education and supervisor of athletic facilities at Rockingham Community College in Reidsville, N.C. She managed a budget and the maintenance and scheduling of facilities. She has also served as regional director and national conference coordinator for the American Association for women in Community Colleges.
Sarwi has also been active in community service, chairing several committees with the Greensboro Junior Service League. She has also been active with Urban Ministries and the Greensboro Children’s Museum.
During her undergraduate career at Elon, Sarwi excelled on the women’s tennis team and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She earned bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and physical education.
Sarwi received a master’s degree in health and physical education form North Carolina A&T State University and a doctorate in higher education administration from N.C. State University. She replaces Mary Ruth ’66, who resigned after serving in the role since 1995.
