The elementary school students sang “Let There Be Peace On Earth” to conclude the gathering, which commemorated the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.
Brian O’Shea, SGA executive treasurer, and Kate Stejskal, SGA executive secretary, presented Elon Elementary principal Nan Wooten, center, with the plaque during the school’s honors assembly Tuesday morning. The plaque includes a picture of the students singing during the gathering, and reads, “Thank you for your participation in ‘A Community Gathering to remember September 11.’ September 11, 2002, Alumni Gymnasium. Presented by the faculty, staff and students of Elon University.”
