Aided by parents, siblings, fellow students and Elon staff volunteers, the 112th freshman class settled into its new surroundings. Freshmen also had the chance to open bank accounts, have Phoenix Card identification pictures made and purchase items in the Campus Shop.
Members of the freshman class come from 39 states. The most qualified and talented freshman class in Elon history has an average SAT score of 1125, 10 points higher than last year.
The academic year officially began with a new student convocation Saturday, Aug. 25, Under the Oaks. The first day of classes was Tuesday, Aug. 28.
