Van Bodegraven chosen for humanities institute

Titled “The Maya World: Cultural Continuities and Change in Guatemala, Chiapas and Yucatan,” the institute will be held June 23-Aug. 3.

Participants will study ancient and contemporary Maya culture in Guatemala and Mexico, learning from important international scholars of Maya culture and civilization.

Van Bodegraven was one of 24 candidates selected to participate in the institute. Before the start of the session, participants are required to do advanced reading of texts which will augment field study.
