Web site promotes benefit bike ride for CrossRoads

Elon graphic designer Christopher Eyl has launched a Web site to provide information about his upcoming bicycle trip across America to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of CrossRoads Sexual Assault Response and Resource Center.

The site contains information and links to other sites about child sexual assault resources in Alamance County and North Carolina. Eyl’s site also contains a daily training journal leading up to the trip, and will also include updates during the ride. In addition, visitors to the site can download a mail-in donor form.

Eyl has begun training for the 2,876-mile journey, which will begin Sept. 28 in Irvine, Calif., and conclude Oct. 23 in Savannah, Ga.

Eyl and three other Elon staff members have been awarded Project Pericles service sabbaticals, a program devoted to raising the level of civic engagement and social responsibility at colleges and universities. The sabbaticals encourage full-time faculty and staff members to take a month away from their jobs at the university to volunteer in the community.
