Robert White, visiting Woodrow Wilson Fellow and former U.S. ambassador to El Salvador and Paraguay, will be on campus March 11-15. Details...
He will speak to various classes during the week about Central and South America and will hold a question-and-answer session from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, in the McEwen film screening room (011). Please encourage your students to attend this session.
Mr. White will also be available on Friday, March 15, from 9:00 a.m. – noon for individual appointments with faculty and students. If you are interested in scheduling a time to meet with him on Friday, please call Lisa Alcon in the Isabella Cannon Centre at 278-6700.
Currently the president of the Center for International Policy, Mr. White’s international experience dates to 1955 when he worked at the State Department as an international economist. Since that time, he has worked with American embassies and consulates in Hong Kong, Canada, Ecuador, Columbia, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Paraguay. In the late 1960s, he acted as the Peace Corps director for Latin America. His other experience includes work with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, with the International Center for Development Policy and with Simmons College as Professor of International Relations.
