Elon Board members named among NC “Legal Elite”

Two members of the Elon University School of Law Advisory Board, one member of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Advisory Board, and two members of the Parents Council have been named to the 2006 “Legal Elite” list by Business North Carolina magazine.

SCHOOL OF LAW ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS

Noel Allen ’69, who also serves as an Elon University Trustee, was honored in the Legal Elite antitrust category. Allen is a partner in the Allen & Pinnix PA law firm of Raleigh, N.C.

William McNairy was honored in the Legal Elite tax/estate planning category. He is a partner with Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard LLP of Greensboro, N.C.

MARTHA AND SPENCER LOVE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

Doris Bray was named to the Legal Elite Hall of Fame, which includes honorees from multiple years. She is a partner with Schell Bray Aycock Abel & Livingston PLLC, Greensboro.

PARENTS COUNCIL MEMBERS

Gaither Keener was named in the corporate counsel category. He serves as corporate counsel for Lowe’s Companies in Mooresville, N.C.

James M. Yates Jr. was recognized in the business law group. He is a partner with Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP in Raleigh, N.C.

Business North Carolina’s annual selections are based on a statewide ballot of 17,336 licensed lawyers. Less than three percent of the state’s lawyers are recognized for excellence in the listing.
