More than 90 employers and 18 graduate schools were represented at a career fair hosted by the Elon Career Center Thursday, March 2 in Alumni Gym. The fair was open to Elon students and alumni, as well as students from schools with membership in the N.C. Career Consortium and the Metrolina Consortium in the Charlotte area.
Jim Allison, associate director of the career center, said potential employers represented companies from North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Maryland and other states. A total of 96 companies registered for the fair, up from 78 last year. Allison attributes the rise in employers to an upswing in the number of jobs available in the marketplace.
Companies represented at the fair included Sageworks, Red Hat, Wells Fargo, Liberty Mutual, the Girl Scouts and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
