Athletics director Alan White led a short program to recognize the accomplishments of Elon’s basketball squads during the 2005-06 season.
The men’s team, which finished 15-14 overall and 10-4 in the Southern Conference, won the SoCon North Division title. Head coach Ernie Nestor and his players received the division championship trophy and Nestor thanked the Elon community, especially students, for supporting the team.
Brett James earned a spot on the SoCon All-Freshman team, while Chris Chalko was recognized for earning All-SoCon honors.
Women’s basketball forward Kitara McMoore was also recognized for her selection to the All-SoCon team. McMoore led the conference in scoring with 14.1 points per game and rebounding with 9.1 per game.
