The Elon University Jazz Ensemble will present a wide variety of standards and jazz classics during its spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 6 in McKinnon Hall, located in the Moseley Center on campus. The concert, under the direction of Jon Metzger, is free and open to the public.
The ensemble will perform a variety of selections, including Cedar Walton’s “Bolivia,” Billy Strayhorn’s “Chelsea Bridge,” Horace Silver’s “Nica’s Dream,” and Milt Jackson’s “Bag’s Groove.”
Featured soloists will include Bernie Coston, tenor saxophone; Katelyn Ealer, trombone; Eden Esters, piano and vocals; Derek Powers, trumpet; Josh Kagel, trumpet; Carol Stewart, vibes; and Sam Williams, saxophone.
