Farmworker Awareness Week (FAW), March 27-31, is a nationwide week of action for students to raise awareness about farmworker issues on their campuses. FAW occurs during the week of the birthday of Cesar Chavez to honor his legacy as a leader of the farmworker movement.
Students in GST 374 Social Reformer’s have organized events on campus to raise awareness about these important issues and to provide ways for others to support the cause. Please join these students throughout the week at tables in Moseley to sign postcards and letters, and pick up bracelets to support farmworkers.
Join us Tuesday, March 28 at College Coffee for Spanish Theater, provided by April Post’s Spanish class. Also on Tuesday is Movie Night in the Zone at 7:30 p.m. with an eye-opening video and guest speaker from Student Action with Farmworkers who will talk to us about living conditions for farmworkers in our own community. Students and faculty are invited to come out to support the farmworkers.
