NEW: Gen. Colin Powell Q&A and Convocation

There will be a question and answer session with General Colin Powell on Tuesday, April 4, at 3:00 p.m. in Whitley Auditorium. During this session, Elon University School of Law Advisory Board member A.P. Carlton, a Raleigh attorney and former president of the American Bar Association, will conduct an interview with Gen. Powell for 30 minutes about leadership before opening the session to questions from the audience.

Admission will be by ticket only and admission is limited to Elon students, faculty and staff. Students and faculty members attending the question and answer session who will robe and march in the convocation processional should carry their academic robes with them to the Q&A. The question and answer session will conclude at 4:00 p.m. At 4:10 p.m. the faculty processional will assemble in Jordan Gym and the student processional will assemble outside of Koury Center.

The Convocation for Honors with General Colin Powell is sold out.

Numbered holding tickets will be distributed to students, faculty and staff only from the box office table in the Koury Center Concourse beginning at 3:15 p.m. on April 4, the day of the convocation. Beginning at 4:20 p.m., those with holding tickets will be directed to any available seats in Alumni Gym. Ticket holders will be seated in numerical order. A holding ticket does not guarantee a seat in Alumni Gym.

General Powell has given us special permission to broadcast the convocation live to McCrary Theatre. Admission to McCrary Theatre will be by ticket only and is limited to students, faculty and staff and their immediate family members, and the parents of the Class of 2006 and President’s and Dean’s list students.

Tickets for the Q&A with General Powell and McCrary Theatre live broadcast will be distributed Tuesday, March 28 beginning at 4:15 p.m. at the Center for the Arts box office. Only Elon students, faculty, and staff may obtain tickets and to do so must present a valid Phoenix card at the box office. Any tickets not distributed by 5:15 on March 28 will be available at the box office when it reopens at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29. There will be no charge for Q & A or McCrary Theatre tickets.
