1. Summer is almost here! Kids across eastern Kentucky will soon be packing their bags to attend summer camp at Camp Shawnee and Camp AJ, and we need energetic, caring volunteers to help make camp a success. Volunteer lifeguards, camp counselors and medical personnel are urgently needed to staff the two overnight camps run by the Christian Appalachian Project. No prior experience at camp is necessary, just a desire to serve and a love of the outdoors and working with children. CAP provides room and board for all volunteers, and potential AmeriCorps Education Awards are available.
