Elon University Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter (PRSSA) will present a chapter development session at the PRSSA National Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, Nov. 10–14.
Dwayne Waite, Elon PRSSA president, said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to show our peers from across the country what we do best at Elon when it comes to our membership professional development.”
Elon will present “Etiquette: It’s Official,” which is designed to educate PRSSA members about how to conduct themselves properly at a dinner setting during an interview.
Waite said, “We want to play off the theme of a sporting event so we will incorporate referees, coaches, penalties, flags, and challenges, while audience members cheer on their favorite team during a dining simulation.”
Eight out of 15 chapter development sessions submitted were accepted for presentation. The sessions are creative and interactive presentations given by students to students.
The Elon University Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter was established in 2003 and has more than 70 members. The Chapter received the National Gold Key Award and the National President’s Citation Award at the 2005 national conference and has participated in the National Bateman Competition the past two years.
