LSM alums, student work at US Open

Recent graduates and a current leisure and sport management student worked at the U.S. Open golf championship at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY, June 15-18. Hal Walker, associate professor of leisure and sport management, visited with the students, who gained practical experience in event operations.

Pictured at right are Jayson Teagle, Gabrielle Raymond ’06, Walker, and David Coppins ’05. Teagle and Coppins worked together on an operations crew, with Coppins serving as the crew chief. Raymond worked in the merchandise tent and worked primarily with vendors.

Raymond and Coppins worked the 2005 US Open in Pinehurst, NC, and Teagle worked at the Chrysler Classic in Greensboro last fall.
