Jerry Tolley, director of annual giving and the Elon Society, has been elected board chairman of the Alamance Foundation. Tolley succeeds Dr. James B. Powell, who chairs the Elon Board of Trustees.
Tolley is a founding director of the Alamance Foundation, which was established in 1991. The foundation’s mission is to build a permanent endowment to meet current and future needs in the Alamance County community, encouraging charitable giving by local citizens.
In addition to his work at Elon, Tolley is serving his third term as mayor of the Town of Elon. He also serves on the boards of the Thomas E. Powell, Jr. Biology Foundation, Cherokee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and BeActive North Carolina.
