John Neff, former executive director of the Reynolda House Museum of American Art in Winston-Salem, will discuss artists whose work is intended to have a healing effect during a presentation at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Center for the Arts on campus. Neff’s presentation, titled “A Higher Ambition: The Healing Art of Henri Matisse and Anselm Kiefer,” is free and open to the public.
Neff has directed and curated for major national museums, including the Terra Museum of American Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. At Terra, Neff presented more than a dozen major exhibitions of American art, introduced an innovative new lecture series and strengthened an award-winning education program.
