David Noer, the Frank S. Holt Jr. Professor of Business Leadership, wrote a column about courage and leadership in the Sunday, Sept. 3 edition of the Greensboro News & Record.
Noer said effective leaders today must have the courage to resist cynicism, to help others, to engage and to look in the mirror. Being an effective leader is a matter of of choice, Noer says.
“Those who have the courage to help make things better make a conscious decision not to let their frustrations and fears disable them. They choose to rebuild, not accept defeat.”
