Senior Anna Schimmelfing won a gold medal at the 2006 World Rope Skipping Championships in Toronto in July. She competed as a Team USA member, finishing first in the combined competitions of speed, power and freestyle.
She previously won silver medals at the 2002 and 2004 World Championships in Belgium and Australia. A member of Chapel Hill’s SkipSations! Jump Rope Team, Schimmelfing will serve as the team’s assistant coach in 2006-07.
