The inaugural exhibition in the new Elon West Gallery was unveiled during an opening reception Monday, Sept. 11, at the recently renovated Elon West building on Haggard Ave. The exhibition included photographs, ceramics, paintings and 3-dimensional pieces crafted by members of the art faculty.
The art department relocated this summer to Elon West, at 406 W. Haggard Avenue in Elon, from its previous home in the Center for the Arts.
Elon West includes classrooms, a ceramics studio, a painting studio, a digital art studio and photo lab. The building’s two computer labs are equipped with the latest audio and video technology. Elon West also includes storage for library collections as well as music faculty offices.
In addition to Elon West, faculty work is also on display in the Isabella Cannon Room in the Center for the Arts. The Elon West and Cannon Room exhibitions are free and open to the public and will run through Oct. 5
