Two students and eight faculty presented at North Carolina State University’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Showcase on September 14-15:
• Kim Jones (Anthropology), Judy Esposito (Human Services), and Martin Kamela (Physics) led a session on “Qualitative Assessment of Study Abroad Learning Outcomes with and without Service.”
• Rebeca Olmedo (Spanish) and Resa Walch (Health and Human Performance) presented on “Partners in Prevention: Using Scholarship of Teaching to Influence Campus Alcohol Culture.”
• Rich Mihans (Education), Peter Felten (CATL), Deborah Long (Education), David Jones (senior, Elementary Education), and Kathryn Walkiewicz (senior, Elementary Education) facilitated a session on “Undergraduate Students As Partners in Inquiry: What Difference Does It Make?”
The conference involved faculty and students from around the region, and featured a keynote address by Brian Coppola, the Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Chemistry at the University of Michigan.
