Assistant Professor of Art History Kirstin Ringelberg wrote three entries
for _A John Steinbeck Encyclopedia_ edited by Brian Railsback and Michael J.
Meyer, which is being released this week by the Greenwood Press.
The photographers Horace Bristol, Robert Capa, and Arthur Rothstein all had
some relationship to the writer whose books captured the Depression Era
paradigmatically. Ringelberg’s entries on these photographers discuss their
images as equally significant documents of the Depression and of Soviet
Russia in relationship to Steinbeck, as well as giving biographical and
bibliographic information.
