Angela Carlberg, a senior majoring in political science and public administration, made a presentation to the American Political Science Association’s Annual Meeting in Philadelphia in September. The title was: “Stand By Your Man(hood): Implications of Male Identification Among African-American Men and Women.”
Carlberg was one of ten students chosen to present their work to the meeting from a group of juniors studying at the Ralph Bunche Summer Institute at Duke University. Sponsored by the APSA, the program immerses selected undergraduates in a graduate-level program focused on the design, data collection, analysis and presentation of research papers. The goal of the program is to encourage more minority students to pursue academic careers in Political Science.
