The Department of Performing Arts at Elon University will present “Carousel,” the popular musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, Thursday, Oct. 26-Saturday, Oct. 28 and Friday, Nov. 3-Sunday, Nov. 5 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts on campus. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m., except for Sunday, Nov. 5, which will begin at 2 p.m.
“Carousel” remains one of the most popular productions ever for the musical stage. Songs such as “Mister Snow,” “If I Loved You,” “June Is Bustin’ Out All Over,” and “When The Children Are Asleep” help tell the poignant story of the faithful Julie and her brutish husband Billy.
The Elon production of “Carousel” is directed by Catherine McNeela, with musical direction by Kenneth Lee. Choreography is by Lynne Kurdziel Formato.
Tickets are now on sale at the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m.
