The Elon University Percussion Ensemble will perform a variety of contemporary music selections during its fall concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Center for the Arts on campus. The concert, under the direction of Jon Metzger, is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature “Gainsborough” by Thomas Gauger; “Prelude and Dance” by Ronald Lo Presti; “Bangala” by David Childs; “Membrana” by Ronald Brown; and “Xylophonia” by Joe Green. Special guest artist Sandy Blcoker will lead the ensemble in two West African hand-drumming pieces.
Student soloists will include Mariana Poole, Carol Stewart and Erin Ashley.
