Members of the Elon community were joined by LabCorp executives and board members for the ceremony. The LabCorp Suite for Executive Education, located on the second floor of the Koury Business Center, includes 3 classrooms, 4 study rooms and a specially designed collaborative computer lab for conducting realistic business simulations.
“The LabCorp Suite is the center for our executive education activities,” said Bob Weston, director of Elon’s Executive Education program. “It’s a first-class facility and shows the business community that we are serious about executive education.” Elon Executive Education provides both experienced executives and developing managers opportunities to upgrade the knowledge and skills necessary for success in their leadership roles.
Elon President Leo M. Lambert formally dedicated the suite and also thanked Kerrii Anderson ’79, interim Chief Executive Officer and President of Wendy’s International Inc., and her husband, Doug, for their generosity in naming two rooms in honor of former Elon faculty members.
John Burbridge, dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, and Tom Mac Mahon, chairman and chief executive officer of LabCorp, both thanked Dr. Jim Powell for his contributions to Elon and LabCorp. Powell serves as chair of the Elon Board of Trustees and along with his wife, Anne, made a gift to name the lobby in the Koury Business Center.
