Peter Felten, director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, served as program co-chair of the POD Network Conference in Portland, Oregon, October 25-29. POD is the leading organization for teaching and learning centers in North America, and the conference drew 750 participants.
At the conference, Felten co-lead a session on “The Roles of Teaching Centers in Supporting SoTL” with Wayne Jacboson (University of Washington). Felten also helped facilitate the session “Expanding the Teaching Commons” with Pat Hutchings (Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching) and Susannah McGowan (Georgetown University).
Felten will be the POD Network conference co-chair, with Therese Huston (Seattle University), for the organization’s October 2007 conference in Pittsburgh.
