Caitlin passed away in an extended health care facility due to heart failure. She had a history of medical problems and had been on medical leave from Elon since late in the fall semester. She was a senior Psychology major who excelled academically, and was recognized on the President’s or Dean’s list five times. She volunteered for the CrossRoads crisis hotline all four years she was at Elon.
Since many of Caitlin’s friends and professors are studying abroad or otherwise not on campus Winter Term, a “Gathering of Friends” will be held on the Elon campus at the start of the spring semester for all who wish to share their feelings of loss and reflect on their memories of Caitlin.
Caitlin”s parents have requested that, in lieu of flowers,
donations be made to CrossRoads Sexual Assault Response & Resource
Center, P.O. Box 673, Burlington, NC 27216 (or electronically at

The family welcomes cards at the following address: Mr. and Mrs. John
