T. Kenn Gaither, assistant professor of communications, has had his book, “International Public Relations: Negotiating Culture, Identity, and Power” published by Sage Publications.
Gaither co-authored the book with Dr. Patricia Curtin, who holds an Endowed Chair in Public Relations in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. The book, intended for upper-level undergraduate students and graduate students, offers the first critical-cultural approach to international public relations theory and practice. Gaither and Curtin introduce a cultural-economic model to public relations theory and an accompanying practice matrix to explain public relations techniques and practices in a variety of regulatory, political, and cultural climates.
One peer reviewer said, “… this is a terrific book, very exciting and it’s going to have a big impact.” Another noted, “I am very impressed with this innovation and congratulate the authors – this is a valuable contribution to both public relations scholarship and practice.”
