John Gaither, president and CEO of Reichhold, Inc., visited with students and faculty in the Love School of Business on Monday, Feb. 19. Gaither met with senior business fellows in a business policy class taught by Barth Strempek, associate professor of business administration. Gaither discussed Reichhold’s strategy to develop a sustainable competitive advantage.
Gaither began his career with Reichhold in the late 1960s and returned to the company in 1973 in marketing and sales in Europe. He ascended through the ranks, holding several key management positions before being named executive vice president and interim chief operating officer in Research Triangle Park, N.C., in 1992. He left the company in 1998 but returned as president and CEO in May 2004.
Reichhold is the world’s largest supplier of unsaturated polyester
resins for composites and a leading supplier of coating resins for a
wide variety of markets and applications. Reichhold has 18
manufacturing sites in 11 countries, including two tolling sites,
throughout the Americas, the Middle East and Europe.
Founded
in 1927, Reichhold will celebrate 80 years in business in 2007. With
