Elon's Instructional Technology Services department, which includes TV Services, Media Services, and elite, has won national recognition from The Communicator Awards 2006 video competition for its work on LiveSmart, a campaign to promote safe and ethical use of the Internet and other online technology. The Elon staff won an Award of Excellence for its Web site about the LiveSmart campaign, and an Award of Distinction for a LiveSmart public service announcement designed to heighten awareness about the possible dangers of making personal information available on the Web.
“I am extremely proud of the way the ITS staff worked as a team to create the materials for the LiveSmart campaign,” said Scott Hildebrand, director of instructional technology services. “Their work will help educate others, especially students, on the danger of posting too much information online. Winning these awards exemplifies the staff’s creativity and their concern for the Elon community.”
The Communicator Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding work in the communication field. Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
