Erika Lamanna, a sophomore Economics major, and Thomas Tiemann, Jefferson Pilot Professor of Economics, presented a paper written with Paul Miller, Associate Professor of Sports Medicine, and Nolan Wildfire, junior Exercise Science major, at the Eastern Economics Association meeting in New York on Feburary 24. The paper, titled “Health, Ambient Exercise and Urban Sprawl,” looks at the connection between walking, biking or taking public transit to work and how much people weigh.
