Anthony Hatcher, associate professor of communications, has written an article for the recently published Encyclopedia of Religion, Communication, and Media (New York: Routledge, 2006). The four-page entry is on religious magazines, ranging from historical publications such as the English monthly periodical the Post-Angel (1701-02), up through American magazines of the 18th and 19th centuries, to the various current religious periodicals such as Christianity Today, Commonweal (Catholic), Bodhi (Buddhist), and Hadassah Magazine, which is a monthly general interest Jewish feature and literary magazine.
