The Elon students are featured in a special weekly section of the site called Students in Action. Elon’s 2007 class of Periclean Scholars has been working to fight malnutrition in Honduras. Under the direction of faculty mentor Jim Brown, the group raised $6,400 for construction of a new kitchen at a pediatric hospital in Honduras.
The PBS page includes a video postcard and slideshow about the problem of malnutrition, journal entries from Elon students Emily Aker, Jennifer De Simone and Kelly Lawrence, and link to the Project Pericles Web site and links to other Web sites devoted to the relief of malnutrition.
