Elon
University’s School of Communications will host a seminar as part of
educational efforts by the Sunshine Center of the North Carolina Open
Government Coalition. The activities, which will be held Thursday,
March 15, include discussion of how well the open government laws are
working in the state and public awareness of access and availability of
open records and public meetings.

9 a.m.—Welcome by Jim Hefner, president, North Carolina Open Government Coalition, McEwen Studio B
9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.—First session, McEwen Studio B. The session
includes presentation of poll results asking citizens about open
government laws and a plan for building awareness about these laws.
10:45 a.m. to noon—Panel discussion on N.C. Open Meetings and Public Records laws in action, Whitley Auditorium
12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.—Luncheon, McEwen television studio
