Dr. Shawn Tucker (Art) and two Elon College Fellows, Gavin Sands (Art) and Jess Barbour (Theater) recently presented papers at the conference for the National Association for Humanities Education. Dr. Tucker presented some of his research relative to the virtues and vices in the arts. Gavin Sands spoke about contrasting strategies employed by contemporary activist artists. Jess Barbour offered the results of her exploration of the Horus myth and Hamlet via Rene Girard’s theories. All of the presentations were well received. Conference organizers were so impressed with the two undergraduate presentations (the only undergraduate presentations!) that they decided to have an undergraduate panel at the next conference.
