Anthony Hatcher, associate professor of communications, led a panel at the Sixth Annual Excellence at the Center Conference at UNC-Greensboro on April 14. The conference was sponsored by the National Association of Communication Centers, a division of the National Communication Association (NCA).
The panel’s title was “One Session and You’re Done: Challenges in Teaching Public Speaking Workshops.” Hatcher presented his experiences and research concerning issues involved in one day, and even one hour, speech workshops for students, faculty and staff. Other panelists included Vik-E Butler and Sarah Wilde of UNC-Greensboro, and Linda Hobgood of the University of Richmond.
