The Leisure and Sport Management department held its annual senior dinner recently, recognizing this year’s graduating class of 39 students.
Awards were presented to the LSM department’s Majors of the Year, Johanna Snowberger and Carson Foushee. Achievement awards presented to Erryn Gallasch & Joshua Cranfill, and the Underclassman of the Year award was presented to Doug Palic. Additional awards were presented to executive board members of the LSM Society—Johanna Snowberger, president; Erryn Gallasch, vice president; Brock Twigg, marketing; Andrew Hurwitz, treasurer; and Kevin Loudy, secretary.
The LSM Society, under the leadership of this year’s executive board, presented Dr. Gerald Dillashaw, dean of the Schoolf of Education, with a $8,000 check for the LSM Department’s endowed scholarship fund. Funds were raised from a variety of engaged experiences this academic year, such as professional golf tournament concessions management; the planning and operation of the Second Annual Sport Business Conference; and the management of a charity golf tournament for the Piedmont Chapter CPCU Society. Junior Tonya Albert was named the first recipient of the LSM Endowed Scholarship Award ($2,000) for the 2007-2008 academic year.
