Students travel to Washington to support Ugandan children

The chapter of Invisible Children at Elon University traveled all the way to Washington D.C. to show their support for the children of Northern Uganda. In Washington D.C. alone, there were 6,000 people who came out for the event.

The event was done to replicate the conditions of the people of Northern Uganda right now. People all over the nation in 15 cities left the comforts of their home to travel to one of these 15 cities to be displaced for a night. While the people of Northern Uganda have been displaced for the past 10 years and have suffered through war for the past 21 years, Americans wanted to show their support by being displaced for one night.
By uniting together for one night, the youth of American proved to Congress that the war in Northern Uganda is a pressing issue that is in dire need of attention, and more importantly, in need of support and activism.

The 30 students and 4 faculty members were able to gain the support of the faculty and administration to go all the way to Washington D.C. to show not only the support of the 34 people who attend, but also the support from the entire chapter of Invisible Children at Elon! Thank you to all the faculty, administration, and other individuals who supported this amazing experience and event.
