David Noer, Frank S. Holt Jr. Professor of Business Leadership, participated in a panel discussion at High Point University Wednesday, May 16 with Guilford County business executives.
The panel discussion topics included capitalizing on the county’s recent business successes such as the new Honda Jet plant, increasing the county’s social capital and building trust in communities and among business leaders.
Noer’s fellow panelists included Al Barnett, Jr., financial advisor with Scott & Stringfellow; Don Cameron, president of Guilford Technical Community College; Mona Edwards, chief of staff at the Center for Creative Leadership; Jeff Miller, CEO of High Point Regional Health System; and Becky Smothers, mayor of High Point.
Allen Johnson, editorial page editor at the Greensboro News & Record, moderated the panel. Howard Putnam, former CEO of Southwest Airlines and Braniff Airlines, served as a panelist and delivered the keynote address.
More than 300 community leaders took part in the program, which was co-sponsored by Johnson and Nido Qubien, president of High Point University.
