Lindsay Gross Hege has been named assistant director of alumni relations for young alumni at Elon University. Hege will work closely with Elon’s most recent graduates to plan programs and events that will engage young alumni in the life of the university.
“I am excited about the opportunity to build relationships with Elon’s young alumni,” Hege said. “Special events at homecoming, alumni chapter events in various cities and the establishment of a Young Alumni Council are just some of the ways I hope to strengthen the connection young alums have with Elon.”
A 2004 Elon graduate, Hege most recently worked as a health education counselor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She provided individual counseling for students and facilitated weekly outreach programs for student groups on personal health topics.
Hege also completed an internship in social work at Duke University Medical Center. She provided counseling and education for women through the High Risk OB Clinic and Duke’s Mother/Baby Delivery Center, and coordinated services for patients such as home health care and infant supplies.
As an Elon undergraduate, Hege served Alpha Chi Omega sorority as study abroad director and director of community relations, and also worked as assistant head resident of a residence hall. A Dean’s List and President’s List student, Hege was a member of Pi Gamma Mu, the national honor society for the social sciences, and Alpha Delta Omega, the national human services honor society.
“We are pleased to have Lindsay on our team,” said Sallie Hutton, director of alumni relations. “Her experience working with students and familiarity with Elon will be invaluable assets in her effort to build our young alumni program.”
